Garden maintenance in Provence

A Provençal garden lives by four very distinct seasons: explosive growth in spring, water stress in summer, structural pruning in autumn, dormancy in winter. Our job is to time the right work to the right moment so the garden stays healthy and legible all year round.

Our annual contracts cover the regular visits — mowing, gentle hedge trimming (viburnum tinus, pittosporum, photinia), hand and thermal weeding, scarifying, leaf clearing — as well as one-off work: cutting lavender back in late winter, goblet pruning of olives, summer pruning of fruit trees, dividing perennials.

We take care of the statutory firebreak clearance (known in France as OLD) required in fire-risk areas across every Alpilles commune: 50 m around buildings, with a certificate provided. Green waste is either removed or chipped on site to produce an organic mulch that goes back around the beds.

What an annual contract covers

  • ›Regular mowing (mulching or collecting) depending on the season
  • ›Hedge and shrub pruning — gentle pruning, hard cutting back, architectural shaping
  • ›Statutory firebreak clearance (OLD) with prefectural certificate
  • ›Hand and thermal weeding, mulching of the beds
  • ›Winterising the automatic irrigation system
  • ›Green waste removal or on-site chipping
  • ›Visit report and seasonal recommendations
